Dew Point Morning

A photographer is coming at dawn for the dew. Through the night the spider's web, the lawn, and the rose give their warmth to the sky, and dew forms on each the moment it cools to the dew point. Plan the night so that all three are dewy in the last half hour before sunrise, and not before.

How to play

The top row is tonight's forecast, hour by hour: a clear sky lets warmth go fast, thin cloud slower, and thick cloud hardly at all. The web cools fastest, the lawn steadily, and the rose under the apple tree slowest. Lay your tools on the hours:

Fleece over one spot for an hour: it cools at a third of the pace. You have two (three from Squall).
The fan for an hour: it stirs warmer air down onto the whole garden, so nothing cools and everything warms a little, as frost fans do in orchards.
The sprinkler for an hour: the air is damper from then on, so the dew point rises and dew comes sooner.

Let the night pass to see when each spot is dewy. All three between half past six and sunrise score 1,000; each is worth 300, less 5 for every minute it comes too soon, and nothing if it is not dewy by sunrise.
